  I found Romney's as a last minute place for a short break as everywhere seemed to be booked. Upon arrival we was greeted with a nice quaint room with its own kitchenette, living area with a TV. The bedroom was situated upstairs in the rafters of the building and was nicely decorated. But be warned if your above 5ft 7 you will bang your head if you don't duck. I'm 6.0ft and did manage to wallop my head multiple times. The room was nicely finished but felt lacking in finishing touches such as, faulty spot lights and the bath taps read hot and cold in reverse. The kitchen was well equipped to use at your discretion boasting all you'd need to cook for yourself in a snug type room. But be sure to read your emails as non of the rooms self catering facilities work... which makes me knock a star off the review for Romney's. Down stairs restaurant seems a good local place. Food was good and reasonable on price. Would I return? Probably not. I've been.. I've stayed I'd find somewhere deeper in the heart of the lakes next time.
