  Second time we have visited and second time very dissatisfied with customer service and attitude - table was booked by telephone, when we arrived they had no record of the booking, checking back of order pads and diary! One of our diners ordered 'house special' dish described as containing prawns, chicken and lamb. When the dish came out the prawns still had their shells on in the curry sauce, attempting to remove a shell from one prawn resulting in their top being splattered by curry sauce, curry sauce in their hair and curry stained fingers. When our diner asked if the shells could be taken off, the waiter told them 'you should have asked for the shells to be taken off when you ordered' At no point in the dish description on the menu did it indicate 'shells on' .... and why would a curry dish be served with 'shells on' - not happy with our experience at all.

  Just had the Lamb Madras, it was excellent, as was the Chicken Chat starter. The service was very good and I did not have to wait long. The fact that this restaurant was full on a Tuesday evening tells you it is a good one.

  Visiting Kendal for work and tried one of the other curry houses in the village which in my opinion wasn't upto par. When I mentioned where I had been at work it became apparent that everyone knew something I didn't...until now. Everyone who I spoke to everyone said to me that the best curry in Kendal is the eastern balti. I went with a few others who were up on training too and I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the staff. I personally had a lamb balti madras hot and it was beautiful. The lamb was tender and fell apart on your mouth, the portion sizes were great, a little too much for me but I tried my hardest to finish. If i had I not been away from home I'd have had a doggy bag! I must give a massive thank you to Sheila who looked after us!
